Robinhood Ventures Fund II just listed on the NYSE to give everyday investors access to private companies before an IPO. One of those companies is us. If you are a founder mid-petition, an HR lead with a hiring plan, or a client with an active case, this is a quick read on what it means for you. (Short version: your case doesn't change.)

LegalOS joins the Robinhood Ventures Fund II portfolio

Robinhood Ventures Fund II (NYSE: RVII) has invested in LegalOS. We are now part of the RVII portfolio, and we are glad to share the news with the founders, researchers, engineers, and talent teams who trust us with their immigration work.

The pairing makes sense once you look at what each side is trying to do. Our work starts from a simple belief: the U.S. immigration system should not be navigable only by people who can afford $30,000 in legal fees and a partner's cell phone number. RVII operates from a parallel conviction in a different arena — that access to venture capital and the wealth it creates should not be reserved for a narrow few.

Both missions come down to the same thing. They widen the door for people who have historically been kept outside it.

For us, that means giving an extraordinary researcher, a first-time founder, or a growing company a path through O-1A, EB-1A, H-1B, or E-3 that is transparent, fast, and priced in public. For RVII, it means opening private-market investing to a far broader base. The investment brings those two efforts into the same room.

What Robinhood Ventures Fund II is

Robinhood Ventures Fund II is a closed-end Business Development Company, or BDC, regulated under the Investment Company Act of 1940. It is managed by Robinhood Ventures, an SEC-registered investment adviser and a subsidiary of Robinhood Markets (Robinhood).

The structure is what makes it interesting for everyday investors. Instead of waiting for a startup to go public, retail investors can buy shares in a diversified portfolio of private companies through a single NYSE listing.

Inside the portfolio

The fund's thesis is narrow by design. RVII invests primarily in Y Combinator-backed companies and businesses founded by YC alumni — a pool of more than 5,000 companies funded since 2005 (Robinhood). LegalOS is a Y Combinator W26 company, so we fit squarely within that mandate.

As of the July 15, 2026 snapshot published by Robinhood, the sector allocation looked like this:

Why immigration is the right place for AI

Consider a founder on an O-1A extension who is asked for evidence of "original contributions of major significance." The clock is running on their status. Their attorney is three time zones away and bills for the email. The evidence exists — press, funding, patents, letters — but nobody has assembled it into the argument USCIS is actually looking for. The RFE lands. The case slips a quarter. Sometimes the hire walks.

That gap is not an edge case. It is the default experience of the U.S. immigration system: opaque pricing, slow document collection, inconsistent quality, and legal expertise that does not scale.

LegalOS was built for that gap. We are an AI-native immigration firm, not a document-generation tool bolted onto a law practice. Attorney-led work product, AI-driven evidence assembly and petition drafting, and a client experience where you can see status, pricing, and next steps without sending an email.

What changes for LegalOS clients

The short answer is nothing. LegalOS remains an independent company, your case team stays the same, and every commitment in your engagement letter carries on unchanged. Attorney-client privilege, confidentiality, and how your documents are handled are unaffected. This investment does not change who runs LegalOS or who is responsible for your petition.

What it does is add a backer. Robinhood Ventures now joins our existing investors, including Y Combinator, which backed us in the W26 batch.

The practical benefit shows up in our roadmap. With more capital behind us, we can move faster on the work clients ask for most:

  • Expanding coverage to more visa and green-card categories
  • Deeper integrations with HR and onboarding systems so companies can start a case from an existing hiring workflow
  • Faster evidence assembly and RFE response, with more of the drafting cycle handled before a human ever waits on it
  • Scaling to more companies and firms that need reliable, high-volume immigration support

There is also a public dimension to this. As of August 13, 2026, anyone who believes the immigration system should be navigable by the people going through it can own a piece of that mission through RVII.

The fine print

A quick word on what this post is and is not. This is a company announcement. It is not investment advice, and it is not an offer to sell securities. LegalOS is not selling shares to the public.

RVII is a fund managed by Robinhood Ventures that holds a stake in LegalOS as part of a portfolio of roughly 80 companies. Early-stage investing is risky and illiquid. Before requesting shares, review the fund's prospectus and risk disclosures on robinhood.com.

Conclusion

The investment does not change what you rely on day to day, but it does change how fast we can move on the things you ask for most: broader visa coverage, faster filings, and immigration support that scales with your hiring plan.
